Martin Jacobson broke through in 2008 when he came third in EPT Budapest, and collected almost 200,000 euros. In 2009 he followed up this great result with a final table in the WSOP ($1500 NLH), and above all as runner-up in the WPT Venice where another Swede, Sven-Ragnar Åström, won. In 2010 the success continued when he took second place in EPT Vilamoura and fourth place in the $1500 NLH in the World Series of Poker. This was followed by a sixth place in WPT Paris and another second place on the European Poker Tour (Deauville 2011). In 2013 the biggest cash of his career came when he finished sixth in the $111,111 One Drop for just over $800,000. In November 2014 Martin Jacobson became the world champion of poker after winning the WSOP main event and a first prize of $10 million.
