Happy birthday, William Thorson! Let's celebrate with an interview.
You've been travelling a lot on the European poker circuit lately, but the field looks a lot stronger in Monte Carlo. Have you adjusted to that?
Well... no, I don't think I have really. I mean, I know a lot of the players anyway, and I can learn how the others behave quickly.
So you're not particularly impressed with the opposition then?
No, as I said, I know a lot of the guys anyway. Sure, there are some unknown players, and that's good in a way, but I don't mind facing tougher opposition. It almost makes things easier actually.
Does that include the Swedish table you were at for an hour or two? It looked quite hard to beat...
Yes... I was there, as was the knife [Martin de Knijff, ed.], Yeh and another good Swede. And a few other guys of course. But I didn't really think about that, it didn't cause me any more trouble than tables usually do. It was a rather easy table actually..
There certainly doesn't seem to be anything wrong with your self-confidence. What can stop you from winning?
Haha, only bad luck!
congratulations again to William, and let's hope for a good finish - as long as he can avoid the bad luck, that is!
